BD Dinner

We are organizing a dinner party at the Museo de la Gastronomia Yucateca (MUGY) on the evening of the last day of the event (Friday, December 8th)

We encourage everyone to join us on this last day of celebration. If you are planning to attend, please let us know at the event reception.

Menu

Here is a description of what will be offered at MUGY restaurant on the night of the event. Everything will be served at the center of each table to be shared between eaters. On your registration form, let us know about any special dietary requirements so we can inform the restaurant to accommodate you.

First dish

We start with a few traditional appetizers to share.
  • Panucho de pavo: a turkey snack on top of a corn base thick tortilla,
  • Empanadas de queso de bola: a turnover filled with local cheese
  • Tostadas de Dzic de res: a local beef-based deash on top of a toasted tortilla.

Second dish

Make yourself a taco with one of the four following traditional dishes:
  • Cochinita pibil: It is a slow-roasted marinated pork dish. The marinade gives the meat a vivid burnt orange color. The dish is a little sweaty and acidic but not spicy.
  • Relleno negro: (black stuffing) is a dish based on turkey, pork, and mixed chili peppers (chilmole).
  • Lechón al horno: Roasted Pork
  • Pavo en escabeche: Marinated turkey with lemon and other spices.

Dulce de papaya and Caballero Pobre

Drinks

A variety of drinks will be offered:
  • Agua de Chaya: A sweet drink made a out of chaya leafs
  • Agua de Jamaica: A sweeten cold hibiscus tea
  • Té de hojas ramón: Ramon leaf tea
  • Horchata: A drink made of milk and rice
